The handicap capability version is for the 4 seater Biotrike only because of the width and height required for the wheelchair to pull in and to turn towards the steering wheel.

For most physically disabled drivers an automobile has to be purchased first and then there is an additional cost to modify the vehicle to make it handicap accessible/usable.

The standard price of a B3XH/Handicap version of the Biotrike is $35,999.00.

Per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) website: “Transportation plays an important role in linking persons with disabilities to work, school and other activities. Economic independence and self sufficiency are possible only when transportation is accessible, affordable, and available.”

Prior to the Biotrike an automobile would have to be purchased first and then modified to make the vehicle handicap accessible/usable. “Most motor vehicle modifications to accommodate the use of the vehicle by persons with disabilities, either as a driver or a passenger, are made “aftermarket”, i.e., adaptations to the vehicle are made after the vehicle is purchased from the original manufacturer.”

C.A.M.I.LLC has come up with a new means of transportation for the market with the Biotrike. It will be manufactured specifically for persons with physical disabilities that are in a wheelchair. The cost is reduced tremendously by having a vehicle manufactured with these considerations in mind as it is being produced.
