Construction Detail |

We have engineered, designed and constructed the Biotrike with the following considerations in mind: safety; clean fuels; to be environmentally friendly, for fuel economy; fuel mileage; cost effectiveness; aerodynamics; and purpose built handicap capabilities. We wanted to build a vehicle that would be safe, efficient, and affordable for the consumer, and made in the U.S.A. |
The Biotrike uses automotive tires and wheels not motorcycle tires. Automotive tires have a higher contact area with the road surface providing better traction, safety, and control. |
In the B3X2, the 2 seater version, we are using a Caterpillar Diesel C1.6 engine rated at 34 hp and 142 ft lbs of torque. The B3X4 and the B3XH will have a larger Caterpillar Diesel Engine. |

Safety is the number one design concern with the Biotrike. A complete roll cage surrounds the occupants. This vehicle is built with a high strength steel tubular framework, like those you see in racecars, to assure its’ passengers safety. There are steel structures added to the sides, as well as three roll over bars over your head. A lightweight aerodynamic composite body is installed in panels over the frame. These panels are made in sections so that the Biotrike can be serviced easily by simply removing a panel. |

The ergonomic design stems from building the Biotrike from the ground up. We are able to accommodate a height range of a driver, like John Giljam who stands 6’8” tall. |
Aerodynamics are very important to fuel efficiency. The Biotrike design takes into account the use of many if these principals including N.A.C.A. vents for cooling the power train. These vents use boundary air pressure to reduce drag. |
The dash features an electronic digital dash which displays speed, engine rpm, odometer, trip mileage, as well as additional performance information. Also on the dash is A/C & heat, AM/FM CD stereo and a GPS (optional). |
